FAQs
-
How long are therapy sessions? How often will we meet?
Sessions are typically 50 minutes and are scheduled weekly or bi-weekly, depending on your needs. You will have a specific day and time reserved just for you to encourage continuity of care.
-
Can I see you in person?
I provide both in person and telehealth (virtual secure platform or phone), whatever you feel most comfortable with. If you do choose telehealth, all I request is that you are located in a private location at the time of your appointment so you can feel safe to be open and get the most out of your session.
-
What does the first session look like?
The first session will involve an initial assessment to discuss your history and needs for treatment. During this first session you will have the opportunity to see how therapy will work. We will review office policies, privacy and confidentiality, and clarify any questions you may have.

Do I prescribe medication ?
No, I am not a medical doctor. While I do not prescribe medications, I do work with many clients who already take medications prescribed by their primary care physician and/or psychiatrist. If we are working together and you are taking psychotropic medications, I can coordinate care with your doctor in an effort to collaborate on behalf of your therapetuic progress.
-
Is therapy confidential?
Yes, everything shared in therapy is confidential, except in cases where there is a risk of harm to yourself or others, or in cases of abuse where legal reporting is required. I take confidentiality very seriously to ensure you feel safe and supported.

Can I see a therapist even if I don’t have a specific issue?
Absolutely! Therapy can be helpful for personal growth, gaining self-awareness, improving relationships, and developing coping strategies, even if you're not dealing with a specific issue.
